Last week was one of my besties’ birthdays, my fellow Daily Dealer, Robin ( better known as Robbs). We’ve been the best of friends since college, and have had a ridiculous amount of fun together over the years. Celebrations have changed just a bit with the kiddies – but we manage to have fun wherever we go. So we decided to celebrate with the little ladies over lunch (Fletcher was with Omi).
Now, where would we go? Burlington has some of the best restaurants. First, we checked out who was offering Wednesday deals, obviously!
We both love sushi, a lot. Hibachi Seafood and Steakhouse offers 50% off sushi on Wednesdays. Amazing deal, but we wanted to head somewhere downtown Burlington.
Honey West offers a $10 lunch Tuesday to Saturday which we’ve both been really wanting to check out. The menu is always changing and includes a 4oz glass of wine or a beer. Wine or beer included … yes please! All for only $10! Their website says it’s a good idea to make reservations because they fill up quickly. We made the mistake of not reserving a spot and unfortunately were not be able to get a seat. They were full. So change of plans. We will definitely be back to try again soon.
We had our strollers so decided to take a stroll downtown to see what caught our eye. There were a few restaurants that would have been great if we didn’t have the girls with us. We walked along Lakeshore and decided on Beaver and Bulldog. Super glad we did. We had amazing service, the waterfront view was spectacular and there was lots of room for all of our stuff (and we had a lot of it). The food was delicious and the Caesars were exactly what we needed! Robbs had the Soft Pretzel Chicken Club with sweet potato fries and extra garlic aioli sauce. She raved about the sauce, and so did our server. It looked so good, I may have stolen a couple of sweet potato fries. I had the West Coast Veggie Wrap with fries and Madison had the Chicken Fingers with fries kid’s meal – we loved everything. Our awesome server even brought Robin a birthday sundae topped with a sparkler.
Madison and Finley were perfect little angels too, which made the lunch extra special. They looked so adorable sitting side by side in their highchairs, reaching for each other and chatting away. We joked that in 20 years, they would probably be doing the same thing, going for lunch as besties, just like their moms.
We planned to stop by Kelly’s Bake Shoppe for $1 Mini Cupcakes but our babes were ready for nap time. We’ll go again soon when Finley’s brother Fletcher is with us. Robbs loves taking him because he has a milk and egg allergy and he’s able to get ice cream and cupcakes there without worry.
My birthday is next, we are already planning where our next lunch date will be.
